The imperative for this family home was individuality. Our clients were game to create something different, memorable, and reflective of who they are. With a Mid-Century inspired color palette of deep, saturated hues alongside stained wood accents, terrazzo moments, and patinaed finishes, we composed a home that feels both rooted in original features and updated for modern living.
The original redwood ceiling in the living room set the tone for the rest of the design. Full of depth and well-traveled quirk, the ceiling was meticulously restored in the process of reconfiguring the floor plan.
The double-sided fireplace was a key element to our vision. A way of dividing two key spaces in the home while still feeling connected and open. With the guidance of a structural engineer, we were able to remove the original fireplace and rebuild this structural element.
